• Hand painted maracas made from rubberwood. Once they have stopped producing rubber they are cut down and used for our toys, and then re-planted, so they are completely sustainable and extremely eco friendly.
• They are then hand made and painted in a fair trade factory in India

Our fair trade Monkey Maracas are made by a company which is certified as a fair trade supplier by IFAT. 40% of profits are returned directly to community development projects within India including schools and healthcare, and the company has strict ethical working conditions including above average wages and equal pay for men and women, secure employment, paid holidays and sick pay, and strictly no children are allowed to work within the facility - and instead a free creche is available to younger children and a school for older ones so that the new generation can also benefit from this brilliant project. So brilliant that the lady who runs it was awarded an MBE for services to the community!
